Well, it’s almost here, folks! We are just two days away from our very first Sunday at Cascade Church Portland. The support and encouragement we’ve received via Facebook, email, phone, etc. has been overwhelming. Thank you for being excited with us, and sharing that excitement with others. We’re also so grateful for the help in supplying our Kids ministry with everything it needs to start off on the right foot.
I wanted to take a moment and let you know what you can expect from us this Sunday. At 9:30am we are going to gather together in the Activity Center at Lents Seventh-Day Adventist for amazing Coava coffee, delicious treats, and a chance for this new community to spend quality time together. We have ceramic mugs on hand for you, but feel free to bring your own. Please help us be awesome guests of the Seventh-Day Adventists by not bringing any food or drink into the sanctuary!
We’ll kick off our services in the main building across the parking lot at 10:30am. Nathan Arnold will be our worship leader for the morning (we can’t imagine a better way to be ushered into God’s presence). I’ll share a short message, specifically looking at what defines “success” in God’s eyes, and what we are looking forward to in this grand adventure He has us all on.
After the service, we hope you’ll swing by the Cartlandia Food Carts to grab lunch, reconnect with old friends, and maybe make some new ones.
I also wanted to ask if you’ll please be in prayer about whether God is calling you to make a year-long commitment to Cascade. This can look different for each person, but as a church plant just starting out, we need your help every step of the way. Please let me know if you have a desire to serve with hospitality, kids, or worship/tech (or in some other way). Also, as we plan and budget for this coming year, we’d love for those who are able to set up recurring gifts through online giving.
More than anything, we are just so excited to be on this journey with you. We will see you this Sunday!
